Sgeama Ath-bheothachaidh Coimhearsnachd

Tha na sgeamaichean againn air fad dùinte a-nis agus cha tèid beachdachadh air tuilleadh iarrtasan.

Tha sinn an dùil gum bi sgeamaichean ùra a’ fosgladh san Dàmhair 2010.

Faidhir mar a thathas a’ coimhead air fearann no cumhachd choimhearsnachd mar stòras, faodar coimhead air a’ Ghàidhlig mar ghoireas a chum ath-bheòthachadh agus neartachadh choimhearsnachdan agus na Gàidhlig fhèin.

Community Regeneration Scheme

Please note that all of our funding schemes are now closed and further applications will not be considered at this stage.

We expect that a new funding round will open in October this year.

Just as community-land or community-energy projects can help revitalise and reinvigorate communities, so to the Gaelic language and Gàidhealach heritage of the Highlands and Islands might be seen as community and cultural assets which can strengthen and sustain communities.

Comunn na Gàidhlig wishes to assist communities looking to utilise Gaelic in community regeneration in the Highlands and Islands, and will do so through grant assistance to third-sector community-based organisations. Consideration will be given to projects which include Gaelic as the intrinsic and prominent element, and which focus on the regenerating spoken Gaelic, promoting communities’ Gaelic identity, promoting cultural vitality, and projects which increase awareness and appreciation for Gaelic in the area and/or which act as cultural tourism initiatives. Projects might include:

  • community-run Gaelic childcare provision
  • community-led social events based on local Gaelic heritage and using spoken Gaelic
  • increasing Gaelic in local community radio broadcasts
  • community-led ‘cultural tourism’ events attracting visitors
  • community-led training initiatives increasing Gaelic careers opportunities
  • community-run initiatives focussing on increasing Gaelic language fluency amongst children
  • inclusive and attractive community-based projects based on local Gaelic linguistic and cultural heritage

Consideration will only be given to communities based in the HIE fragile areas. The areas eligible are shown in red on this map here.

Who is it for?
social enterprises, charitable organisations, community organisations (with constitution).

Who is ineligible for support?
Public bodies and authorities, private sector organisations.

What support can we expect?
Up to £10,000.

What are the rules?

  • All funds must be spent on the agreed project
  • Evidence of expenditure should normally be provided before any sums are released
  • The project must proceed within the agreed timescale
  • Applicants must have a constitution and bank account.
