Comunn na Gàidhlig wishes to assist communities looking to utilise Gaelic in community regeneration in the Highlands and Islands, and will do so through grant assistance to third-sector community-based organisations. Consideration will be given to projects which include Gaelic as the intrinsic and prominent element, and which focus on the regenerating spoken Gaelic, promoting communities’ Gaelic identity, promoting cultural vitality, and projects which increase awareness and appreciation for Gaelic in the area and/or which act as cultural tourism initiatives. Projects might include:
Consideration will only be given to communities based in the HIE fragile areas. The areas eligible are shown in red on this map here. Who is it for? Who is ineligible for support? What support can we expect? What are the rules?
